When a monster calls, will you listen? What would your monsters have to say? Come for a lively discussion of death and anger, growth and maturation, connecting and learning to let go.
Presenter:
Dr. William Sharp, Psya.D., Cert.Psya. is an assistant teaching professor at Northeastern University and is on the faculty at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. He has a private practice in Brookline Village for adults, children, and groups. His interests include writing and movie discussions. He has several publications, including a textbook, Talking Helps. Continuing Education Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Name the qualities of the film that reveal it is a parallel to the construct of the unconscious
- List 3 resistances to the expression of anger in treatment and in the film
- Summarize the importance of using feelings (transference and countertransference) in clinical work with children
